October Wrap Up & November TBR

It has been awhile since I’ve posted a wrap up AND a TBR so today I have joined them together for this post!

October Wrap Up

I’ve only read 4 books this month which is better than I thought I would do cause A LOT has happened. πŸ˜…

But I am still very happy with this month cause I have posted 2 reviews for the 2 books I have read AND I have been pretty active here which I am happy about. Now… shall we get to the books?

  1. Jade Fire Gold by June C.L. Tan β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†
  2. A Nordic King by Karina Halle (Nordic Royals #3) β˜†β˜†β˜†
  3. Feed by Aveda Vice (Hunger Duet #0.5 β˜†β˜†β˜†
  4. Lovely, Dark and Deep by Claudia Cain β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†

November TBR

Earlier today I have chosen 5 books from my TBR jar of prompts for November and I think I need all the luck I can get cause I have 2 thick books in here. πŸ˜…

  • Escaping from Houdini (Stalking Jack the Ripper #3) by Kerri Maniscalco “cover features your favorite color” – purple
  • Truly Devious (Truly Devious #1) by Maureen Johnson “book by an author you haven’t read from”
  • The Way of Kings (The Stormlight Archive #1) by Brandon Sanderson “highest rated” – looked at my Goodreads for this and I was not surprised
  • House of Earth and Blood (Crescent City #1) by Sarah J. Maas “Goodreads Choice Award”
  • The Rogue of Fifth Avenue (Uptown Girls #1) by Joanna Shupe “most recent purchase”

So that is it for todays wrap up and tbr post. Luckily I have started 2 books on this pile already but I still have a long way to go (especially with The Way of Kings). Wish me luck!

Halloween Smutathon: A Week Long Romance Readathon

For this month, I will be joining the Halloween Smutathon which is a week long romance readathon hosted by Riley @rileymarie and Lainey @gingerreadslainey over at youtube/twitter/instagram. I will leave all the links to the readathon down below so don’t forget to check those out.

The readathon will be running from the 25th of October until Halloween which is on the 31st of October. They have a 4Γ—4 bingo board with 16 prompts that can help you decide your tbr for that week AND a group book was also chosen which (oh my gosh) I am so excited to get to.

I have been on a romance mood for months now and I am slowly getting into mystery/paranormal books so this is the perfect time for me to explore this genre more.

Even though I wanted to try and read different books for each prompt let’s be realistic and admit that I won’t be able to do that. πŸ˜…

So below are the 5 books I am planning to get to for the next 7 days that will fit into 13 prompts in the bingo card.

Halloween Smutathon TBR w/ Prompts

  • A Lady of Rooksgrave Manor (Tempting Monster #1) by Kathryn Moon(Group Book) Reverse Harem, Monster, Red or Purple Cover, Vampire, 2021 Release and New to you Author

So that is it for my TBR on this coming Halloween Smutathon. So excited for all of this and hopefully I could get to all of them.

IG prompst for the whole week are also given so if you want to join don’t forget to visit any of their accounts and use the hashtag #hrreadathon for your posts. 😁

I have stopped myself from choosing different books for each prompt cause I am sure I won’t be able to finish it in 7 days. πŸ˜…

Below are the 7 books I am planning to get to for the next 7 days that will fit into 11 prompts in the bingo card.

#HRReadathon TBR w/ prompts:

May TBR & Stan Asian Authors Readathon

I chose my May TBR last night and let me tell you… I might have been a bit ambitious for this month. πŸ˜…

May is the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month so I decided to join Year 2 of the #stanasianauthors readathon hosted by the lovely Eunice of Nerdy Talks Book Blog and Kath of The Last Reader.

(To know more about the readathon you can visit any of their instagram accounts here and here.)

#StanAsianAuthors tbr (w/ prompts):

I was also so happy that I was able to fit this 2 following books for my TBR this month cause I really wanted and NEEDED to get into them (not part of #stanasianauthor tbr)

Hoping this would continue for the rest of the year so I could finally accomplish my Goodreads Reading Challenge cause for the past years I have always missed 2-3 books when it comes to this challenge.

Readathons has also been a big help for me this month and I plan to do and join more in the following months.

April TBR

Last night I have chosen the books I will be reading from my TBR jar filled with different prompts. I got this idea and the prompts from one of my favorite booktuber Riley over at Riley Marie. This was actually one of the best way I have discovered on choosing the books I want AND need to read cause there are prompts like owned for more than 3 years or published on 2015 etc.

So below are the 6 books I want to read with their corresponding prompts. πŸ“š

  • Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden (The Winternight Trilogy #1) “page number” – with this I had a random number generator and set it between 300-600. 308 was the final number and BATN has 312 pages (closest I could find)
  • The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzie Lee (Montague Siblings #1) “title that starts with _____” – again I have a random letter generator and it ended with G. (let’s just ignore “the”)
  • These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong “Folklore/Mythology/Retelling” – obviously I had to pick my current read for this.
  • The Star Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi (The Star Touched Queen #1) “hardcover”
  • To Sir Phillip, With Love by Julia Quinn (Bridgertons #5) “historical”
  • The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding by Alexandra Bracken (Prosper Redding #1) “middlegrade”

March Wrap Up

First wrap up post for this blog!

For the past months I have been reading a ton of historical romance books cause I had a huge fantasy slump since last year. This has actually brought back my love for historical romance and made me discover such amazing titles.

For the month of March I have read a total of five books which is better than I expected AND it helped me catch up with my reading challenge. It’s a good thing I read thru historical romance very fast cause its very easy for me to get into and well… you can never go wrong with romance right?

So without further ado this are the books I have read for this Month. πŸ–€

  1. The Wallflower Wager by Tessa Dare (Girl Meets Duke #3) β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†
  2. The Duke Heist by Erica Ridley (The Wild Wynchesters #1) β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†
  3. Between the Devil and Desire by Lorraine Heath (Scoundrels of St. James #2) β˜†β˜†β˜†β˜†
  4. Surrender to the Devil by Lorraine Heath (Scoundrels of St. James #3) β˜†β˜†β˜†
  5. Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco (Kingdom of the Wicked #1) β˜†β˜†β˜†
