2022 Anticipated Releases… SO FAR!

I have been on Goodreads for a few days now trying to check on all upcoming releases this year and I have seen a LOT of books. This is my first time making one of this so I had a hard time narrowing it down cause there were so many that I wanted to read and am very much anticipating the release of. (Side note: I made this list on the start of February so I might have missed a ton of titles BUT I will be doing another one of this in the future.)

For now I have chosen 14 books that I am sure I will get to and most probably buy (if it becomes available on my local bookstore) a copy once it comes out. This will be for the months of February to July (with 1 book from August).

Without further a do let’s get into the books shall we?

  • This Woven Kingdom (This Woven Kingdom #1) by Tahereh Mafi – February 01, 2022
  • Justice of Kings (Empire of the Wolf #1) by Richard Swan – February 22, 2022
  • Gallant by VE Schwab – March 01, 2022
  • The Cartographers by Peng Shepherd – March 15, 2022
  • The Bone Orchard by Sara A. Mueller – March 22, 2022
  • The City of Dusk (The Dark Gods #1) by Tara Sim – March 22, 2022
  • The Bladed Faith (The Vagrant Gods) by David Dalglish – April 5, 2022
  • Kaikeyi by Vaishnavi Patel – April 26, 2022
  • Book of Night by Holly Black – May 3, 2022
  • Juniper & Thorn by Ava Reid – June 7, 2022
  • Ordinary Monsters by JM Miro – June 7, 2022
  • In the Shadow of Lightning (Glass Immortals #1) by Brian McClellan – June 21, 2022
  • The Daughter of Doctor Moreau by Silvia Moreno-Garcia – July 19, 2022
  • Babel or The Necessity of Violence: An Arcane History of the Oxford Translators’ by RF Kuang – August 23, 2022

So that is all my 2022 Anticipated Releases… so far! I actually really enjoyed the process of making this post cause it made me discover a TON of amazing titles that I might have not known of if I didn’t do this. I am so excited for the coming months cause of all this book and hopefully I get to them before the year ends.

Is there any books on my list that you are also anticipating?

October Wrap Up & November TBR

It has been awhile since I’ve posted a wrap up AND a TBR so today I have joined them together for this post!

October Wrap Up

I’ve only read 4 books this month which is better than I thought I would do cause A LOT has happened. 😅

But I am still very happy with this month cause I have posted 2 reviews for the 2 books I have read AND I have been pretty active here which I am happy about. Now… shall we get to the books?

  1. Jade Fire Gold by June C.L. Tan ☆☆☆☆
  2. A Nordic King by Karina Halle (Nordic Royals #3) ☆☆☆
  3. Feed by Aveda Vice (Hunger Duet #0.5 ☆☆☆
  4. Lovely, Dark and Deep by Claudia Cain ☆☆☆☆

November TBR

Earlier today I have chosen 5 books from my TBR jar of prompts for November and I think I need all the luck I can get cause I have 2 thick books in here. 😅

  • Escaping from Houdini (Stalking Jack the Ripper #3) by Kerri Maniscalco “cover features your favorite color” – purple
  • Truly Devious (Truly Devious #1) by Maureen Johnson “book by an author you haven’t read from”
  • The Way of Kings (The Stormlight Archive #1) by Brandon Sanderson “highest rated” – looked at my Goodreads for this and I was not surprised
  • House of Earth and Blood (Crescent City #1) by Sarah J. Maas “Goodreads Choice Award”
  • The Rogue of Fifth Avenue (Uptown Girls #1) by Joanna Shupe “most recent purchase”

So that is it for todays wrap up and tbr post. Luckily I have started 2 books on this pile already but I still have a long way to go (especially with The Way of Kings). Wish me luck!

Books I Want to Read Before 2021 Ends?!

Anyone here who makes a list of books they want to read/finish before a specific year ends and then the year DOES ends… and you finished nothing. 🙋‍♀️ Now I am doing another list and putting it out here and HOPEFULLY it encourages me to get to even half of them.

So I separated this into 2 sections: the 7 Priority TBR books and 5 “if you still can” books. Majority of the books in the priority pile are very thick and intimidating so… Goodluck to me. 😅 Shall we get on with the books?

7 Priority Books

  • The Way of Kings (The Stormlight Archive #1) by Brandon Sanderson – Page 275 of 1007.
  • Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon – Page 437 of 830.
  • Escaping the Devil (Stalking Jack the Ripper #3) by Kerri Maniscalco – Page 232 of 416. Currently Reading
  • Theft of Swords (The Riyria Revelations #1-2) by Michael J. Sullivan – Page 202 of 649.
  • Elantris by Brandon Sanderson – Page 51 of 622.
  • The Bitter Kingdom (Girl of Fire and Thorns #3) by Rae Carson – Page 150 of 433.
  • Scent of Magic (Healer #2) by Maria V. Snyder – Page 20 of 414.

As you can see I have already started all of this and stopped at some point cause… I got distracted by unnecessary things. I’m sorry! 😓

5 “if you still can” Books

  • These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong
  • A Torch Against the Night (An Ember in the Ashes #2) by Sabaa Tahir
  • Crooked Kingdom (Six of Crows #2) by Leigh Bardugo
  • Kingdom of the Cursed (Kingdom of the Wicked #1) by Kerri Maniscalco
  • House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune

This are the books I will be reading when I do finish my priority books. If that won’t be possible this will be the first set of books I go with next year.

And that is it. Now that I have put it here I feel…. more pressured. I have a very packed reading/reviewing schedule for this month so hopefully when November rolls by I can start tackling my priority list. I am very excited with all the titles though and I just need to plan my reading schedule well.

What do you think I should read first?

Halloween Smutathon: A Week Long Romance Readathon

For this month, I will be joining the Halloween Smutathon which is a week long romance readathon hosted by Riley @rileymarie and Lainey @gingerreadslainey over at youtube/twitter/instagram. I will leave all the links to the readathon down below so don’t forget to check those out.

The readathon will be running from the 25th of October until Halloween which is on the 31st of October. They have a 4×4 bingo board with 16 prompts that can help you decide your tbr for that week AND a group book was also chosen which (oh my gosh) I am so excited to get to.

I have been on a romance mood for months now and I am slowly getting into mystery/paranormal books so this is the perfect time for me to explore this genre more.

Even though I wanted to try and read different books for each prompt let’s be realistic and admit that I won’t be able to do that. 😅

So below are the 5 books I am planning to get to for the next 7 days that will fit into 13 prompts in the bingo card.

Halloween Smutathon TBR w/ Prompts

  • A Lady of Rooksgrave Manor (Tempting Monster #1) by Kathryn Moon(Group Book) Reverse Harem, Monster, Red or Purple Cover, Vampire, 2021 Release and New to you Author
  • Escaping from Houdini (Stalking Jack the Ripper #3) by Kerri Maniscalco – Red or Purple Cover and Read in One Sitting
  • The Book of Life (All Souls Trilogy #3) by Deborah Harkness – Paranormal, Vampire, Taboo and Supernatural Main Character

  • Feed (Hunger Duet #0.5) by Aveda Vice – Enemies or Rivals, Monster, 2021 Release, Novella, New to you Author and Read in One Sitting

So that is it for my TBR on this coming Halloween Smutathon. So excited for all of this and hopefully I could get to all of them.

IG prompst for the whole week are also given so if you want to join don’t forget to visit any of their accounts and use the hashtag #hrreadathon for your posts. 😁

I have stopped myself from choosing different books for each prompt cause I am sure I won’t be able to finish it in 7 days. 😅

Below are the 7 books I am planning to get to for the next 7 days that will fit into 11 prompts in the bingo card.

#HRReadathon TBR w/ prompts:

May TBR & Stan Asian Authors Readathon

I chose my May TBR last night and let me tell you… I might have been a bit ambitious for this month. 😅

May is the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month so I decided to join Year 2 of the #stanasianauthors readathon hosted by the lovely Eunice of Nerdy Talks Book Blog and Kath of The Last Reader.

(To know more about the readathon you can visit any of their instagram accounts here and here.)

#StanAsianAuthors tbr (w/ prompts):

I was also so happy that I was able to fit this 2 following books for my TBR this month cause I really wanted and NEEDED to get into them (not part of #stanasianauthor tbr)
